Archdiocese Of Baltimore Paying Legal Fees For Group Looking To Block Sex Abuse Record: Report

Despite coming out publicly saying they will not oppose the release of Maryland AG Brian Frosh’s 463-page report depicting the sexual abuse of hundreds of victims, the Archdiocese of Baltimore is reportedly paying legal fees to a group seeking to do just that, according to a new WBAL report.

In mid-November, Frosh filed a motion to release the report, which identifies more than 150 priests who were either accused of or identified as a possible sexual abusers, which the Archdiocese said last year it wouldn’t stop, promising transparency.

However, according to the WBAL report, the Archdiocese of Baltimore is allegedly helping to pay the legal fees of an anonymous group that seeks to prevent the report from being released.

No other information regarding the group was initially provided, with the Archdiocese simply telling the outlet that it has certain “obligations” to some involved with the organization.
